Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve sleep. Swedish Massage is the recommended massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts. As with any therapeutic approach to pregnancy wellness, women should discuss massage with their prenatal care provider.

Prenatal Massage (side-lying position)
A side-lying position is a very soothing, comfortable position in which most people sleep, so it is very calming physically and psychologically. When side-lying, the therapist has easy and safe access to all areas of the body to treat those aches and pains commonly experienced during pregnancy.

Graston Therapy + Deep Tissue Massage

Graston Therapy is a form of soft tissue mobilization assisted by instruments (IASTM). It is a form of manual therapy that includes special ergonomic stainless steel tools for gently massaging and mobilizing soft tissues. When an injury within the soft tissue occurs, the tissue repairs itself in a haphazard pattern, forming scar tissue. While the scar tissue itself is not painful, it does tend to limit the range of motion, and the ongoing stiffness may contribute to chronic pain. Please visit this link for more information regarding the Graston Technique.

What does the Graston Technique Treat?
● Lower back muscle strain or sprain
● Achilles tendinosis
● Carpal tunnel syndrome
● Cervical sprain/strain
● Plantar fasciitis
● Rotator cuff tendinosis
● Shin splints
● Tennis/golfer’s elbow

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular massage therapy is a specialized form of manual massage in which digital pressure and friction release areas of strain in a muscle. Strain areas are called trigger points, and they tend to be the cause of ongoing muscular pain symptoms. These trigger points are small areas of the muscle in which there is a contracture of tissue, and the lack of blood and nutrients in that area causes an inability for that muscle to relax. The area is hypersensitive and can cause pain, fatigue, and weakness in the muscle. Trigger points can lead to referral pain, a phenomenon in which areas far away from the trigger point experience sensations of pain, tingling, or numbness. Neuromuscular massage therapy involves alternating levels of concentrated pressure to the trigger point – usually using the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Once applied, the pressure should be applied for 10 to 30 seconds.

What does neuromuscular massage treat?
● Carpal tunnel symptoms
● Sciatica symptoms
● Calf cramps
● Hip, knee, and jaw pain
● Headaches
● Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ disorders)
● Iliotibial band friction syndrome
● Plantar fasciitis
● Tendonitis

Fascia Blasting

Fascia is what holds us together. It is bands and webs of collagen that wrap around all internal parts of the body. Fascia can become restricted and injured due to improper body mechanics, old injuries, dehydration, weight gain, or the stress of daily living. Injured and neglected fascia can cause intense pain and structural limitations of the body.

Fasciablasting (PRF) is a non-invasive technique to address soft tissue dysfunctions. The FasciaBlaster® tools are specifically designed to stimulate the body’s inflammation response. This technique is proven to assist the body in regeneration and restoring proper function to any area of the body, including the face and scalp.

Mayan Abdominal Therapy

Sobada Maya, or Mayan Abdominal Therapy, is an ancient technique practiced for thousands of years by midwives, shamans, and healers, with the knowledge being passed down from generation to generation. This therapy is a noninvasive, external massage of the area below the ribs and above the pubic bone. Clients are modestly draped during the session.

The organs and ligaments of the abdomen can shift, become inflamed, and restrict the body’s flow due to stress, poor pelvic alignment, repeat pregnancies, running on hard surfaces, or even car accidents. These issues can then cause conditions in the reproductive organs, the urinary system, and the digestive system. It is recommended that the client have one session a month for six months to see improvement in symptoms; however, this is based on how long the symptoms have been active.
30-minute – $65 – abdominal focus only

Reiki Therapy + Massage

Reiki is a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient’s body to facilitate the patient’s process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of “rei” (spiritual or supernatural) and “ki” (vital energy). Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy.
