Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve sleep. Swedish Massage is the recommended massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts. As with any therapeutic approach to pregnancy wellness, women should discuss massage with their prenatal care provider.

Prenatal Massage (side-lying position)
A side-lying position is a very soothing, comfortable position in which most people sleep, so it is very calming physically and psychologically. When side-lying, the therapist has easy and safe access to all areas of the body to treat those aches and pains commonly experienced during pregnancy.

Prenatal Massage with Cushion (prone position)
This patented design provides ultimate support for pregnancy massage, breast discomfort, or lower back pain during face-down massage treatments. A perfect option for the third trimester, stomach sleepers or sleeping on your side has given you hip pains while pregnant.

Graston Therapy + Deep Tissue Massage

Graston Therapy is a form of soft tissue mobilization assisted by instruments (IASTM). It is a form of manual therapy that includes special ergonomic stainless steel tools for gently massaging and mobilizing soft tissues. When an injury within the soft tissue occurs, the tissue repairs itself in a haphazard pattern, forming scar tissue. While the scar tissue itself is not painful, it does tend to limit the range of motion, and the ongoing stiffness may contribute to chronic pain. Please visit this link for more information regarding the Graston Technique.

What does the Graston Technique Treat?
● Lower back muscle strain or sprain
● Achilles tendinosis
● Carpal tunnel syndrome
● Cervical sprain/strain
● Plantar fasciitis
● Rotator cuff tendinosis
● Shin splints
● Tennis/golfer’s elbow

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

MLD is a specialized, light-touch massage technique designed to encourage the natural movement of lymphatic fluid throughout the body. Unlike traditional massages, MLD facilitates the natural flow of lymph fluid through the vessels and can reroute the lymph in areas where pathways may be blocked.

MLD can be started just days after surgery. However, clients should wait until all drainage tubes and stitches are removed before booking a session. To help minimize inflammation, we recommend starting with three or more weekly MLD sessions. Once the swelling has subsided, a series of Myofascial/Scar Tissue Release treatments are recommended to reduce scar tissue effectively.

  • Pre-surgery MLD prepares the body by stimulating lymph vessels to clear the waste and excess fluid, aiding tissue cleanliness and immune filtering.
  • Recovering from surgery or injury helps minimize swelling, pain, and bruising.
  • Seeking relief from fluid retention, those with certain chronic conditions like lymphedema.
  • Craniocervical MLD can help lower intracranial pressure for individuals with severe cerebral conditions.
  • Anyone looking to boost their immune system and improve circulation.
  • It can support stress management and enhance skin health for a fresh, glowing appearance.

Reiki Therapy + Massage

Reiki is a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient’s body to facilitate the patient’s process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of “rei” (spiritual or supernatural) and “ki” (vital energy). Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy.
